Dine in historic elegance at one of the finest Italian restaurants in the Capital Region...

Ristorante Paradiso

Ristorante Paradiso is an eclectic Italian restaurant just about a mile west of the Albany capitol buildings. Parking is never a problem. The menu is filled with delicious choices, but don't decide on your entree until you hear about the specials which change daily. Originally the famous Albany landmark, The Boulevard Cafeteria, Paradiso was used for the filming of the bar scenes in the film, "Ironweed", starring Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep, based on the book by Albany native, William Kennedy. Boulevard Cafeteria
Iron Weed The restaurant is still a gathering place for Kennedy, as well as many other members of the New York State Writers Institute. After the restoration and filming, owner Matt Daskalakis, manager Tom Scarff, and Don Butler, one of the Capital District's top chefs, turned this beautifully designed restaurant into one of the finest dining establishments in Albany.

With its beautiful decor and relaxing ambiance, Ristorante Paradiso is open seven nights a week for dinner during the legislative session, featuring live music on Saturday nights. Aptly named, this gourmet's "paradise" is the perfect setting for all of your occasions. From a quiet dinner for two, to a boisterous banquet in the private dining room, you will never be disappointed. After visiting once, you will feel like part of the family at Paradiso.
